Sourcing Stock Media for Digital Imaging Software.

Although every piece of media I use in this project may not be free to use commercially, I believe it is important to research stock media and how to acquire it, for future more professional endeavours.

Creative Commons

Our vision is nothing less than realizing the full potential of the Internet — universal access to research and education, full participation in culture — to drive a new era of development, growth, and productivity. - creativecommons.org

Creative commons is a customisable license that publishers of all kinds can apply to their work, creators choose between several variables such as whether it can be used commercially or privately, whether it can be altered or just passed on, or whether the creator needs to be credited. for the license to apply.

Licensed content can be found in many places online, not only is there an official Creative Commons search tool, but images can be found using Flickr and Google advanced search.

Stock Media Marketplaces

Another popular method of sourcing stock media would be through a market place, these sites host thousands of pieces of stock media, commonly uploaded by the sites community, and usually for a small fee you can use this media for whatever you desire.

The advantage of this method is the quality and selection of the content, as well as the consistency with licensing.
