Text

The decorative font making up the header on the Front cover and spine are written in “Rabid_Science”, to centre the text horizontally I drew a rectangle over all of the background, apart from the bleed, I then selected this layer as well as the text and used the align tool to align horizontally I did the same on the spine aligning both horizontally and vertically. The rest of the text was written in Arial,

I am quite happy with the decorative font and may consider using it for my final design I think a basic sans-serif font such as Arial would do fine for body text.

Logo On Front Cover.

I developed this logo with the idea of recreating the design of the crop circle, I used illustrator do create this, by drawing 3 circles with the ellipse tool. then using the pathfinder divide tool combined with the direct selection tool to delete the centre area, I then repeated the process with the three inner circles, this time only removing the very centre.

I quite like this logo, it is simple and memorable and could probably be used on the disc design also, I am likely to use it in my final design, but maybe in a more creative way, hopefully implementing it into another image.

Colour Scheme

Personally I am not particularly fond of the black and green colour scheme, but I do feel it fits in with the Sci-fi genre.

Back Cover Design

I am quite happy with this design, I created this using a mask to hide the bottom of the main image, them adding a rectangle and rotating it to a suitable angle.

I think this design has potential, the green rectangle compliments the colout of the decorative text, which I believe looks good as there is no decorative text on the back cover, it would also be a good place to put a slogan.

The one thing that would need more attention would be the images underneath, they would need to be properly resized and spaced out if this layout was to be used in a final design.

3D Rendering And Overall Impressions

I believe

This design has a lot of good features, I think the decorative font could be used and the logo could definitely be a useful image, the back cover layout could be used with some work,, I will experiment with other colour schemes to see if i can find something I prefer.
