Final Design Composition: Front Cover Background

As I posted in showed in one of my first posts, I divided up the template and edited smart objects.

I started with this image -

I then used the Content Aware Fill tool and the Clone Stamp tool to remove the pipe and the tracks, (It didn’t make much sense having tire tracks heading through a fence)

I then used the Magic Wand tool to select the fence, add it to a new layer and delete it from the original image, I did the same for the barbed wire at the top of the image.

After that I adjusted the saturation and brightness, to give me this image.

I then decided

To change the sky to something that would fit the mood of the film, so I selected the sky using a Quick Select tool and created a mask ready for a the new layer.

I then added the following image and applied the necessary mask.

I then duplicated this layer (so that I had a backup) and adjusted the brightness,

The next I used the quick select tool to remove the signs from the following image and place them over the Photoshop workspace.

I set them a little father apart and used the Eraser tool to cut away some of the base, to create the illusion that there was some grass growing in front of the signs. then adjusted the brightness and saturation.

I then added a vector image that I had made previously on Illustrator as the film’s logo, (I will go into the development of this logo in a later post.) once imported I rasterized it, selected it and created a mask, I then adjusted the mask with a black and white brushes to add the dripping, I then filled the mask with various shades of green using the brush tool.

In my next post I will show how I implemented the fence,
