Final Design Composition: Back and Spine Background

 

I wanted the spine and back to have the same background, both of the sides would be primarily displaying information, do the background needed to have one main colour and stick to the military theme of the film

I ended up using the following image from CG textures.

I chose this image as I liked the scratched texture and the striped at the bottom, it is also free to use.

Initially I placed it on the full PSD file, but once I had decided I wanted onto use it, I separated it and added it into the smart objects

I then added an effect layer, (this was duplicated into the spine smart object).
