Final Design Composition: Nathan Fillion

 

I wanted to add a picture of the main character to the bottom corner of the back cover, I started by downloading the following image and opening it with Photoshop.

I then selected Nathan Fillion from the image and copied the result as a new layer to the back cover smart object, mirrored the image with Edit > Transform, adjusted the opacity to 68% and then added a blank mask and with a soft black brush blended in the edge of the image, I was careful to make sure aspects such as the face and hair line were left the most opaque.

I also adjusted the saturation to make the image grey scale.
